Hi, my name is Amy and I am the Founder and Director of MYnd & Me. I have been working in the community services industry for over 15 years, spending time working with some of our most vulnerable people, such as children and adolescents, adults with complex mental health challenges, substance and addiction, homelessness, employment, education, and parents. In recent years I have been validated with the knowledge that I am neurospicey, which has been liberating and overwhelming, while finishing my Bachelor of Science (Psychology). My ultimate goal with MYnd & Me is to create a space where individuals feel empowered, understood, supported and validated with the right support for them.
MYnd & Me was created to fill a gap in the support sector for people with a psychosocial disability and people who are neurodiverse, who are experiencing challenges and/or barriers in everyday life related to poor mental health or their neurodivergence. Finding the right support in an industry that is flooded with offers to provide services can be both challenging and frustrating, resulting in many people not getting the assistance they need or want.
My mission is to create a team of people, with lived or learned experience, to promote best practice that is ethical, compassionate, and adaptable to the changing needs of clients. A team who feel just as strongly that now is the time to change the narrative and support and promote wellbeing for people and their families. Building a persons capacity and resilience will support them to experience their best life, and acknowledge that this looks different for everyone. We believe every individual deserves people in their team that are considerate and understanding of specialised mental health needs and concerns.
